Role Overview: On behalf of our client in the Federal Government, we are seeking a Project Technical Officer to aid in the execution of a significant ICT project for the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD).

As a Project Technical Officer, your duties may include: Investigating and resolving technical issues, including logging, diagnosis, and resolution under the guidance of the project team. Conducting structured analysis and employing innovative problem-solving approaches to resolve complex issues within project timelines.

Identifying appropriate documentation and ensuring its compliance with standards, including understanding related implementation aspects. Assisting with logistics and cargo preparation within the technical environment. Supporting Test and Train environments to facilitate system deployments and enhancements. Implementing new infrastructure, technology acquisitions, software solutions, and upgrades under the supervision of the project team.

Maintaining inventories, including Documentation, Design Library, Software Assets, Hardware Assets, Communication Systems, Integration Interfaces, etc. Demonstrating sensitivity to ICT security requirements at all times.

Essential criteria: 1. Successful management and delivery of ICT related projects and/or large corporate ICT transformation programs and an ability to adapt to and work across various delivery methodologies (such as waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).

2. Experience with hardware installation and hardware maintenance of IT infrastructure and equipment, including servers, routers, switches, VoIP equipment, computers and peripherals, and wireless network equipment, including associated copper and optic-fibre structured cabling.

3. Experience with RF, 4G LTE or Satellite communications systems equipment and installation, with a strong understanding and practical experience of RF system components and supporting equipment.

Desirable criteria: Experience with software systems including installation, administration, development, and testing. An Open Cabling Licence with optical, coax and structured (O, C & S) endorsements. Understanding of Antennas and associated cabling/feeder systems and familiarity of masts and associated hardware.
