Responsibilities: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Prepare floors for installations. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Organize to accomplish the work. Experience and specialization. Installation specialization. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Vinyl or resilient tiles. Rubber sheet goods. Parquet flooring. Flash covings. Cork flooring. Borders or feature strips. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Hardwood strip flooring.
