The Corrigin Farm Improvement Group are a dynamic and vibrant Grower Group based in the Wheatbelt town of Corrigin, WA. The group provides members and the wider agricultural community with innovative, timely and relevant research, development and extension, in addition to connecting and supporting local growers and industry to be in front of the trend.
THE POSITION: CFIG are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Executive Officer to manage the general operations of the organisation. They will work closely with the CFIG management committee and stakeholders to deliver agricultural RD&E programs, projects and activities for our farming community in the Corrigin and surrounding areas. Core activities include: Sourcing and accessing funding to help the Group prosper and meet member priorities. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the group’s activities, services and operations with assistance from other team members. Develop and implement new projects, both for the Group and third parties. Maintain and coordinate sound financial management practices both for the group and projects. Effectively manage all staff relations and maintain appropriate HR management practices. Oversee the marketing and communications for the group and projects. Lead a dynamic team of agricultural professionals who support farmers in ensuring the sustainability and resilience of their businesses. Contribute to field days, workshops and forums. Liaise with government, researchers and industry. Assist with project management and delivery of outcomes including project reporting and financial management.
Connect with farmers to understand future industry opportunities; understand and prioritise local grower agronomic, environmental, and business management issues The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the group.
PREREQUISITES: Broad understanding of agricultural and Australian broadacre farming systems, products, and technologies. Must be an Australian citizenship/permanent resident. Current “C” class drivers Licence essential. Excellent attention to detail, with exceptional organisational skills, and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Strong leadership, strategic and critical thinking. Contemporary business management skills. High level of proficiency of computing skills including Microsoft programs, ability to learn specialist programs as required.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Demonstrated affinity for working with farmers. Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure during peak seasonal periods. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, show initiative and work productively as part of a team. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Experience in liaising and communicating within the agricultural industry and the wider community. Knowledge and experience in agricultural research, trial management including trial monitoring and writing scientific reports is desirable by not essential. A general knowledge of agricultural research, extension and communication is desirable by not essential. Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related discipline, or diploma is desirable but not essential.
EMPLOYEMENT: Negotiable (both part-time and full-time applications considered). Flexible working arrangements are negotiable and will be considered for the right candidate
CONDITIONS: Australian citizenship/permanent resident. Current “C” class drivers Licence essential.
SALARY PACKAGE: Remuneration is negotiable based on experience and the expected amount is to be listed in the EOI application. The successful applicant will enjoy working both in the office and out in the field, with use of a company vehicle. You will be provided a work laptop and mobile phone for work use.
LOCATION: CFIG Office, Corrigin Western Australia. The Corrigin Farm Improvement Group is located in Corrigin, Western Australia, approximately 230km east of Perth. It is preferred the successful applicant is based within the region. Corrigin is a progressive community in the Central Wheat belt that offers a welcoming atmosphere with the best of rural living and amenities.
