Long Haul Tractor-trailer driver
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening
Salary: $25.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week

Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Extended Trailer Combination Permit or Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training, Defensive Driving Course
Experience: 5 years or more
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Flatbed, Van, Refrigerated, Liquid bulk, Dry bulk
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Local, Regional, Provincial/territorial, National, International
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
