Field Service Project Manager

Location: Burnaby, BC
We are currently seeking a technical Field Service Project Manager based in our Burnaby, BC, Canada site to drive service requirements and deliverables supporting legacy three phase high power inverter systems for PhotoVoltaic applications.
This position will be responsible for requirements analysis, specification, design, voice of customer, tooling, training and documentation.
General Responsibilities:
Promotes and embraces the “Service” goals of the organization, the Service partners (Internal and/or External) as well as end customers.
Represents “Service” in all Sustaining Engineering meetings related to the products
Develop detailed requirements and specifications based on product and system requirements, working in concert with marketing managers, engineering project managers, field service technicians and other multi-discipline technical leaders in multiple locations world-wide
Works closely with other project teams to ensure accuracy and reduce redundant work
Follows established development guidelines and standards and makes recommendations for improvements
Collaborate with multiple departments to achieve service goals
Typical Activities (but not limited to):
Field Expert feed-back gathering (Voice of Customer)
Prepares and coordinates the creation of technical documents and diagrams as required by the Company’s Product Support and Service Plan
Spares Documentation
PM and predictive planning
Document inputs and data gathering
Document technical reviews
Participate to Literature Safety Reviews
Represent Service in Sustaining Engineering activities (Voice of Service)
Participate in Board of Change and Engineering Change Order meetings
Active member of Product Change Request/ Engineering Change Order Teams
Drive Field Service Bulletin creation and implementation
Training Material
Training SEL2 technical review and LSR
Training CL1&2 technical review and LSR
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or other equivalent engineering degree
5+ years hands-on experience in Field Service
Demonstrated experience:
In small project management.
Failure analysis.
Working autonomously.
Working in a multicultural environment.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels within the organization including formal meetings and presentations.
Some travel required
Desired: Demonstrated experience with:
Industrial power electronics and controls.
Field service repair of complex equipment.
Direct customer service.
Solar or battery technology
Familiarity with training material development, and technical document development
Familiarity with general safety regulations.
Passion for technology and a strong drive to improve products and process in every area of the business.
