Head of Taxation, Durbanville, Northern Suburbs. Company Name: Finsolve Solutions. The Finsolve Group needs a Tax Management Professional based in Northern Suburbs Of Cape Town Area to join our team. Position: Head of Taxation. Salary range: R 35,000 – R40 000, based on experience. Reporting to the Financial Director. Leadership requirement role: To be part of the leadership management team. 4 to 5 years’ minimum experience required in tax practice and accounting. A related professional qualification and membership of an accounting / tax body is essential.

Qualities required: Leadership qualities, deadline focused, detailed, accurate, excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Team player. Must be able to work independently under high levels of pressure. The role is a hands-on position.

Location and special conditions: the role is hybrid based (office and home office), with agreed regular office time to manage and coach staff reports. The position is based in the Northern Suburbs – Cape Town. Due to the nature of the position, periodic overtime is required due to the statutory deadlines, in particular February and August of each year.

The role will consist of the following: Accountable for managing the Tax Department. Supervise the Tax Administrators – direct reports. Providing guidance and advise on all taxes, including income tax, payroll, and vat. Investigation of queries from staff and clients as to the application of tax law. The Tax Department provides the following services to internal and external clients: Ensuring all income tax returns, both personal and company / trusts, are filed within statutory deadlines, Providing tax input, on the tax computations to the Annual Financial Statements (AFS) compiled by the internal AFS team, Meeting and communication with clients to manage routine tax matters, Generating tax papers on re-occurring topics, for future refence, Meeting with potential new clients to discuss their tax challenges and take on strategy.

Provide advice and guidance on advanced tax matters, with the Financial Director, such as estate taxes, corporate restructures, and tax efficiencies. Manage tax disputes, compromises, and communication with SARS / Clients, by liaising with the outsourced external specialist. Provide specialised tax input into in-house development of various tax software and assist the technical and sales team in maintaining a tax relevant website and client notifications.
