Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Tool and Die Fabrication Experience: Metal cutting, forming or bending dies
Specific Skills: Machine tools to close tolerances, Design tools, moulds, jigs and fixtures, Verify dimensions of machine parts, Machine, fit and assemble parts, Inspect and test final products, Set up machine tools
Additional Skills: Read blueprint, schemas and drawings, Instruct apprentices
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Ear plugs
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods
Work Site Environment: Noisy
