Kennel Attendant (Casual Relief, as needed)
Terms of Employment: Casual, Part Time, Weekend, Day
Salary: $10.25 Hourly for 8 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 309 Sherwood Road, Prince Edward Island (3 vacancies )
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required
Experience: Will train
Work Setting: Animal shelter, Kennel
Type of Pets Groomed: All breeds of dogs, Cats
Animal Care Experience: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.), Hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, etc.
Specific Animal Care Skills: Prepare food and feed animals, Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures, Monitor and document animal behaviour
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Additional Skills: Keep records of animals treated, Supervise helpers
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads
Security and Safety: Bondable

Other Information:Job includes: bending,lifting, kneeling and carrying; walking dogs, cleaning kennels and pens, washing pet bowls and assisting staff. Must be able to work quickly, accurately and independently.
