Specific Roles/Responsibilities in line with Care Worker of practice in dialysis clinic. Be Competent on Dialysis machine (Dialog+) troubleshooting. Able to open and close the unit independently.

General unit Duties: Manage and maintain all medical equipment in accordance with Bophelong Renal Care technical policies and procedures. Ensure that all Bophelong Renal Care quality initiative programs are utilized for the patients under your management. To provide optimal patient care as per the nursing scope of practice and Bophelong Renal Care clinical care pathways. To perform dialysis according to prescription and in accordance to Bophelong Renal Care internal policies and procedures.

Effective risk prevention and management: Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards. Adhere to the Bophelong Renal Care Resuscitation policy. Adhere to Bophelong Renal Care medical waste management principles and all other waste management principles. Report to the leader and act upon potential/actual risks identified. Report equipment needing repair or replacement to the unit leader. Maintain professional conduct and standards always in accordance with Bophelong Renal Care policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality always according to POPI act.

Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development. Ensure that your knowledge is constantly updated regarding Nephrology nursing to aid you in providing an optimal dialysis service and education and training to patients, new staff and patient’s families. Keep up to date with Bophelong Renal Care evolving policies and procedures.

Requirements: A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/HPCSA. Proven Leadership abilities a prerequisite. Computer proficiency (MS Office). A Minimum of 2 years’ renal experience will be an advantage.
