Lodge General Manager, Umkhanyakude, North Coast. A privately owned game lodge which offers Luxury Tented accommodation and an array of authentic bush experiences in a lush indigenous setting is looking for an experienced General Manager with F&B and Finance background.

Requirements: At least 5 years experience within Hotel or Game Lodge environment. Related Hospitality Management qualification preferably tertiary. Sound track record of customer satisfaction. Solid track record in Food and Beverage management and finance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities: Providing a welcoming lodge environment for our customers with high standards of service, meals and housekeeping which meet the company’s expectations and standard. Maintaining the smooth operation of the Lodge, its facilities, infrastructure, services, and functions. Managing all staff effectively by assisting, training, developing, motivating, and monitoring their activities. Maintaining a safe, harmonious, enjoyable workplace environment for staff.

Overseeing Human Resource planning, recruitment, selection, performance management, learning and development and Health and Safety. Leading by example in a positive and enthusiastic manner. Working closely with the Relief Manager to create a strong management team. Communicating and reporting to Directors on a regular basis in line with company requirements. Compiling payroll data and entering data on Paste Payroll and reconciling errors.

Generating reports for payments e.g. PAYE returns and other third parties. Maintaining a proper document control system. Keeping abreast with company policies and tax legislations that impact on remuneration. Preparing month-end journals and reporting integrating to the financial system. Overseeing the use and maintenance of all company’s vehicles and ensuring that Permits are renewed, and all vehicle documents are in order.

Ensuring that all company’s documents are up to date including Liquor License and SARS related documentations. Ensuring that company’s COVID-19 Protocol is properly applied and adhered to all the times. Preparing monthly duty roster for all departments.
