The perfect applicant will have a passion for food, enjoy working in a restaurant environment, Have attention to detail. A Strong kitchen manager with skills to control all the following areas.
1. Food Costs, attention to detail in terms of stock takes, stock orders, waste control, portion and recipe control in line with targets set by the owners
2. Food style and design, A PASSION for taste and flavour, a modern chef who understand a gastro pub contemporary style of food, we are NOT fine dining but desire our food to be tasty, imaginative and well presented.
3. Staff leadership, training and developing junior chefs, managing the team in line with company strict standards for consistency, personal presentation, time management, kitchen procedures, cleaning schedules and food skills
4. Hygiene organisation and cleanliness, following HACCP procedures, ensuring kitchen hygiene is to standards set.
5. The ability to write menus, change dishes seasonally, create menus for special events, work with wine makers to create menus for wine dinners and the wine club events is essential.
This is a great opportunity for a chef who likes to lead and has a passion to run their own restaurant. Working along side the owners to grow and develop further a popular restaurant in this lovely environment. Casual yet relaxed, A minimum of 5 years working as a sous chef or above is essential
