Animator – Knysna, Eden, Company Name: LYNNE HARRIS RECRUITMENT. Part-time position Seeking a talented, passionate Animator in the Knysna, Plettenberg Bay or Sedgefield area for a short-term contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a series of frames. He/she will work with a storyteller to produce reels, videos, and various other forms of entertainment.

Duties & Responsibilities: Conceptualize ideas for characters, scenes, backgrounds, and other animation elements; Create character sketches for new animations; Develop storyboards for animation projects; Design backgrounds, sets, and other elements of the animated environment; Develop timing and pacing of motions, based on audio requirements; Working with the story editor to merge the various layers of animation; Recording dialogue for the animation where necessary; Collaborating with storyteller and photographer and other to finalize projects.

Oversee the creation of 2D, 3D or computer-generated images; Draw the images by hand or use computer software for their creations; Completing assigned graphic elements with the goal of meeting project deadlines.

Minimum Skills, Requirements: 2 to 3 years Animation experience; Film animation or web publishing an advantage; Passion for animation; At least one year experience in the field; Comfortable working with computer graphic tools and using these to create storyboards; Digital social media animator/graphic designer with passion and curiosity; Excellent creativity and originality; Graphic design skills; Solid knowledge of animation such as staging, timing, ease in, anticipation.

Proficiency in the use of design and animation software; The successful animator must live in Knysna, Sedgefield or Plettenberg Bay. The position may be on a flexi basis (half day or hours that suit). More details at interview level.  Please note that this is a flexi part time position.
