Purpose of the role: To ensure the effective and timeous administration of tax related matters.

Experience and Academic Qualifications Required: Minimum 1 year experience in a tax role. Degree or Diploma in a financial field advantageous.

Skills: Accurate capturing of data. Effective, accurate organisation and administration of daily tasks. Team Work.

Experience: Basic knowledge of South African Income Tax, Capturing of data.

Competencies: Numerical accuracy. Communication skills (verbal and written).

Required Computer Packages: Microsoft Office, Greatsoft experience an advantage.

Responsibility: Key Duties and Responsibilities – Key Performance Indicators: To perform the following functions: Opening and coding of mail received from SARS. Capturing of all incoming tax related SARS correspondence and maintaining a data base of correspondence. Collating additional information requested by SARS. Follow up to ensure that all SARS correspondence has been replied to within the required timeframe.

Maintaining the client base on Greatsoft, thus ensuring an up-to-date accurate data base. Liaising with SARS re account balances, interest and penalties. Monitoring the payment of refunds to clients from SARS. Updating Public Officer details on SARS system. Updating client details on the SARS system. Performing any other tasks relating to tax administration, which may be reasonably expected.
