We are an NPO teaming up with private sector partners to create employment and skills development opportunities. An international academic study is being conducted between researchers in India and South Africa to evaluate the youths’ (18-35 years old) digital inclusion in SA. The study aims to capture the experiences and identify socioeconomic factors that drive digital exclusion and inequality. We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to be part of the study by collecting data and gaining valuable skills. You will have to collect data through a paper and pencil questionnaire from people between the ages of 18-35 years old in peri-urban areas. These positions are primary for persons that can speak isiXhosa or isiZulu language and will be able to gather data from predominantly African (black) respondents.

Duties and Responsibilities: Collect data from the required number of respondents. Clarify questions from respondents. Ensure the questionnaires are completed in full and accurately. Keep the questionnaires secure. Hand the completed questionnaires in by the required deadline. Maintain data/research collection ethics.

Skills and Requirements: Matric - a minimum educational requirement. Tertiary education (advantageous). Data collection experience (advantageous). Must be fluent in English - the questionnaire is in English and therefore English reading and speaking proficiency is required. Must be fluent in isiXhosa or isiZulu spoken within the community. Organising and planning skills. Strong verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail. Time Management.
