Diesel Mechanic, Benoni, East Rand.

A young, entrepreneurial company based in Benoni is looking for a like-minded Diesel Mechanic to join the dynamic team. E&M Plant and Transport specializes in Crane truck transportation and rigging. We have been offering a high-quality service for the past 14 years. Please don't apply if you don't have experience with Volvo trucks.

Duties & Responsibilities: Maintaining a parts inventory. Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop. Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist. Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles. Ability to effectively manage time and administration related to job cards and checklists. Ability to execute job function with urgency but ensuring that quality of work is not compromised. Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks. Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.

Experience with Various trucks (Volvo, Isuzu, Man). Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems. Checking vehicle lighting systems. Experience in hydraulics and cranes. Experience with auto electrical. Running diagnostic tests on vehicles. Analyzing diagnostic test results. Willing to travel for breakdowns. Weekend work will be required.

Must be willing to work overtime whenever needed. Bonus Requirements. Ability to weld. Spray painting experience. Computer Literate. Physically Fit and Healthy.

Minimum requirements: Trade tested in diesel mechanics. Own vehicle At least 5 years experience in a diesel mechanic position. Valid drivers’ license, code EC with a PDP.
