Health & Wellness Reporter
The Health & Wellness team at U.S. News & World is seeking a reporter, a position that involves extensive reporting, writing and editing. The beat includes a wide range of Health & Wellness topics, including diet and nutrition, fitness, mental health and happiness, and parenting. The reporter will write several weekly stories and slideshows, along with daily news round-ups, and will contribute to social media efforts, edit blog posts from outside contributors, and assist with rankings projects.
Qualifications:
Excellent reporting and research skills, ideally in an online journalism environment, with two or more years of experience.
Knowledge of health and wellness topics, including diet and nutrition, fitness, and mental health.
Proven editing skills.
Ability to multitask and work on deadlines in a fast-paced journalism environment.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of and interest in U.S. News's rankings projects, including Best Diets and Top Recommended Health Products.
Strong understanding of SEO and experience with online analytics reporting.
Familiarity with content management systems, HTML/CSS and Web production is a plus.
Experience recruiting and working with freelancers is a plus.
Savvy with social media, including Twitter and Facebook.
Must be able to work well in team environment.
College degree or equivalent.
