Key function: The role of House Facilitator is that he/she would be responsible for the supervision of the students, general housekeeping, maintenance, and administration of The Farm Student Accommodation.

Duties and responsibilities: Duty hours are 08h00 – 17h00 weekdays with a presence over the weekends. Maintain, manage, and run the Student Accommodation within the specified budgeted expense. Maintain and enforce the House Rules. Liaise with contractors. Give house tours to potential tenants.

Manage staff i.e., cleaning staff and garden staff. Includes work schedules as well as monthly cleaning of fridges and food cupboards, well maintained gardens. Manage petty cash. Manage weekly and monthly service providers e.g.: pest control, waste tech. Manage monthly cleaning of the septic tank and ensure grey water system is in pristine working order with no blockages.

Ensure that pumps and borehole is in always working condition. Ensure all policies are adhered to i.e, smoking, electricity, cleaning, loadshedding, health and safety, laundry. Draft policies where needed. Monthly room inspections. Advise on any damages etc.

Prepare asset register for each rented room as well as common areas. Hold house meetings with students every quarter. Ensure The Farm Student Accommodation is drug and substance free. Test electric fence and Alarm monthly / weekly. Common areas must be always clean. All furniture and appliances are well looked after.

Qualities and Skills: A dedicated individual who enjoys interaction with young adults. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proactive and hands on. Good administrative skills. Ability to work independently but be a team player. Initiative and attention to detail.

High energy levels. Experience in running a student accommodation is a plus. Knowledge of maintenance and handy man/ woman skills is a huge benefit. The house facilitator will be accommodated in a small, unfurnished flatlet on the property with its own little kitchen and bathroom suitable for a single person. Remuneration per month is R8500.00.
