Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Welder Trade Certification, Welder Red Seal Endorsement
Experience: 5 years or more
Major Work Area: Maintenance/repair

Area of Specialization: Machinery or equipment repair
Welding Techniques: Flux core arc welding (FCAW)

Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Interpret welding process specifications, Determine weldability of materials, Operate hoisting and lifting equipment, Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications, Layout patterns, Supervise other workers
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Drug test
