Quality and Food Safety Manager, Other, West Coast. A busy perishable food production company needs to fill a very challenging and senior role - this must be your passion or it will not work.
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Food Technology or an equivalent qualification. Certificates in FSMS (HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000). Thorough knowledge of FSMS (FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO). Thorough knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements.
Audit qualification: Computer literate (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Outlook). Own transportation (Code 8 Licence).
Traits: Professional, enthusiastic, hardworking, well-organized and able to prioritize. Strong leadership capabilities. Detail orientated and excellent verbal, written, administration and interpersonal skills. An assertive, team –spirited, pro-active and hands-on approach. 3 - 5 years’ experience in Food processing plant (Preferably in dairy manufacturing). Min 4 years’ experience in the implementation and maintenance of the Quality and Food Safety management system FSSC version 5. (VERSION 5 IS ESSENTIAL)
Thorough knowledge of FSMS (FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO). Thorough knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements. Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Outlook). Ability to write and review documentation that adheres to requirements with relation to legislation and applicable standards. Align company policy and procedures with FSSC 22000 version 5 and client requirements. If you do not hear back in 4 days, you have not been shortlisted.

Responsibility: Implementation, management, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality and Food safety management systems including but not limited to FSSC 22000 version 5. Lead audits (IBL, FSSC 2200, SQMS, ZA etc.) Work according to statutory and regulatory requirements with regards to standard operating procedures, policies and record keeping.
Ensure that verification planning is completed and implemented. Establish, implement and maintain a Supplier quality assurance program. Establish, manage, maintain product specification sheets for all products. Establish, implement and maintain a Contractor/Service provider management program. Pest control. Ensures the pest management control system is in place in terms of requirements and is managed accordingly.
Regulatory and statutory updates: ensure continuous improvement and update of the Quality and Food management system. Drive activities pertaining to Corrective and preventative actions. Conducting of supplier and internal audits. Training of staff. Customer program: Conduct store visits. Participate in and hold product assessments.
Customer complaints/Supplier complaints and alerts; Manage investigations, conduct root cause analysis and corrective action process. Compile monthly trend analysis reports. Provide monthly feedback on customer complaints//Supplier complaints and alerts at Management meeting.
Salary: R55000
