Duty Manager, Other, Durban City, Company Name: Employ KZN.

Main Purpose: The duty manager reports into the relevant department heads on any particular shift. He or she is the liaison between all departments, namely: Food and Beverage, and Front of House. To effectively manage the property, staff and everyday Hotel operations, to achieve optimal guest satisfaction, ensure compliance, maximization of financial performance, and working environment in accordance with the standard operating procedures, policies and quality standards of the Hotel in General.

Job Specific Requirements: In-depth knowledge of Rooms Division / Housekeeping. Reservations Experience – essential. Essential that the successful candidate has a thorough knowledge of OTAs ie: Agoda, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Expedia etc Knowledge of Revenue Management; Understanding of Hospitality Industry; Working knowledge of Human Resource Policies and Practices; Working knowledge of legislation applicable to the Hospitality Industry; Understanding of Marketing, Sales and channel principles and processes; Working knowledge of financial and administrative systems.

Working knowledge of POS systems; Basic understanding of IT &Telecommunications software

Job Experience: 5-10 years practical operational experience of which a minimum of 2-5 years has been in a Managerial / Supervisory capacity within the Hospitality industry.

Education: Matric (Essential). Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related field – preferred. Must have Opera knowledge.

Personal requirements: Must be entrepreneurial and a self-starter that thrives on achieving exceptional results.

Must be independent in thinking; Must be detail -oriented and deliver outstanding customer service, and maintain a pristine property. The ability to be a great leader and motivate a team. A can-do, guest-pleasing attitude. Ability to work flexible shifts.
