CAREER OPPORTUNITY
FLEET MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
The City of Corner Brook is presently accepting applications for the full time/permanent position of FLEET MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR with the Operational Services Department.
This position is responsible for maintaining a cost effective fleet management system with effective maintenance strategies that will maximize the return on purchased and/or leased City Equipment; coordinating matters relating to the purchase, warranty, insurance and registration of all City owned motorized equipment; coordinating and tracking the use of City hired equipment; overseeing the tendering and/or purchasing process for City equipment; carrying out accident/incident investigations related City owned/hired equipment; managing the City’s automatic vehicle location (AVL) system and following up with the supplier/mechanical garage on any issues; conducting safety orientations with all contractors, monitoring the use of all city owned/hired equipment to ensure compliance with established laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
The successful applicant would possess a post-secondary degree in Business Administration or diploma in Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited college or university, supplemented with a minimum of three (3) years work experience in a fleet management role including direct experience in heavy equipment. Practical knowledge of the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Tender Act, related OH&S regulations and procedures relating to accident management (i.e. insurance, liability, etc.) and experience with fleet management software in a municipal environment is desired. The incumbent should  possess general accounts payable knowledge, formal computer training, and strong communication and time management/organizational skills; have solid understanding of mechanical procedures, vehicle and equipment applications, general vehicle and equipment specifications; experience in tender preparation, insurance procedures, inventory management and electronic communication systems.
SALARY RANGE:  $44,855(Probationary) - $49,839
