Senior Financial Accountant, Kraaifontein, Northern Suburbs. Uniflo Group, the largest rose supplier in South Africa, is currently seeking a strong senior financial accountant to manage and lead the accounting team of the group.

The ideal candidate should have the following attributes: Self-motivated, positive attitude, team player, leader, problem-solver; Strong communication skills; Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritize; Analytical thinking, with great attention to detail.

Duties will include (but not be limited to): Ability to manage and lead staff effectively within the accounting division; Take ownership of and review the entire bookkeeping function, from general ledger to trial balance level, including payroll function, and ensure that team members complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner; To perform accounting computations and calculations accurately, and try to identify if there are discrepancies, and if there are any errors, try to resolve them; Prepare or review reconciliation of each balance sheet items using external verification; Prepare or review reconciliation for key income statement accounts; Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures; Preparation and submission of all relevant VAT, EMP and other statutory returns; Attending to SARS queries with regards to VAT and Payroll taxes; Fixed asset register maintenance, and relevant journals for depreciation and accumulated depreciation; Month-end and monthly financial reporting to those charged with governance (management pack preparation)

Processing year-end journals; Preparation and review of group budgets, forecasts, and cash flow forecasts; Liaising with auditors, suppliers, and debtors.

Requirements: Tertiary qualification: BCom / Bcompt Degree or equivalent (Qualification advantageous); SAICA / SAIPA completed articles will be an advantage; SAGE / Pastel Accounting experience is essential; Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is essential; Strong computer literacy; Basic understanding of SARS VAT, Payroll and Income Tax legislations; Own transport and driver's license; Willingness to work extended hours should it be required; Minimum 2 years post article experience or 4 years experience in a similar role.
