The Armory Show 2014 presents the opportunity to work the opening night at one of the world's largest and most important international art fairs, featuring an elite roster of leading modern and contemporary art galleries from around the world. Get a glimpse of the other side of the art world and view some of the most notable art from the 20th and 21st centuries while working at a major New York event and a highlight in the annual art market calendar.
*VIP Assistant: We are looking for a highly organized individual to work closely with the fair’s Director of VIP Relations. Candidate takes ownership of projects, must pay excellent attention to details, able to multi-task, thrives under pressure, and must have superior communication & customer service skills in a fast paced environment. The selected candidate should have an insight and passion in Contemporary Chinese art as this year's Focus program is highlighting the artistic landscape in China through its specially curated section of the fair.
*Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of VIP Relations with VIP programming and events that lead up to the fair and run throughout
- Oversee the Armory Arts Week online programming
- Register and generate reports from the database for VIP guests and events
- Handle VIP inquiries via phone, email, and VIP desk at the fair
- Assist in hiring, managing, and training Armory Arts Week volunteers
- Provide support in VIP invitation requests & in-house mailing

*Education/Requirements
- BFA, MFA preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an office administrator
- Familiar with using a database and knowledge of basic formula on Excel
- Experience in art events is a plus
- Fluency in Mandarin (speak/write/read) is a plus
