Engineering Operations Manager, City Centre, Cape Town. Our client designs manufacture and supplies a full range of unique, high-quality, and durable marine hoses for the offshore gas and marine industry.  We seek to appoint an Operations Manager to take control of day-to-day operations, inject modern management principles and help us grow the business.  Reporting to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the industry and be able to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our factory ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements: A mechanical engineering qualification coupled with 5 years of operations management experience will be advantageous. Proven track record in a similar environment. A high degree of computer literacy with ERP implementation experience is a bonus. Experience in ISO 9001 QMS.

Attention to detail: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong people management skills. Sound reporting skills. Strong strategic thinking ability.

Responsibilities: Plan, manage, supervise and evaluate day-to-day operations and personnel. Prioritize and expedite production to ensure schedules are kept. Ensure systems and procedures are implemented and followed. Data compliance and document traceability. Monitoring KPIs and generating management reports. Oversight and management of ISO 9001 quality management system. Liaising with contractors and sub-suppliers. Inventory management and stock rotation. Recruit, train and supervise staff.
