Description
Second Stage Theatre seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented self starter to join the Marketing department. The Sales & Marketing Associate is responsible for coordinating the sales initiatives of the theatrical season; both at the midtown theatre and the summer series, 2ST Uptown. He or she creates mail and email schedules, sales plans and subscriber and single ticket buyer communication. In addition, the marketing associate leads group sales and special outreach initiatives to strategic partners for each production. Specific duties include:
Subscription Efforts
- Develop timelines, initiate sales plans, and work to maintain a strong subscription base year over year. Must have experience with database management and mailing list development.
- Host special events for 2ST subscribers at the theatre.
- Work directly with the box office and telemarketing to ensure a smooth transition of information.
- Manage a cross-departmental subscription task force.
Single Ticket Efforts
- Set up all codes for specially-priced tickets.
- Determine strategy, mailing list, production and printing timeline for email and direct mail efforts.
- Actively seek out strategic partners for each show that will further the sales outreach initiatives.
- Produce monthly sales reports.
Group Sales
- Actively seek out sales opportunities.
- Coordinate the group sales efforts of the theatre. Ensure that group sales agents have up to date information and pricing.
- Work with the box office on tracking and billing group orders.
- Determine best practices as they pertain to group sales.
Other
-Strong familiarity with the off Broadway and Broadway landscape
-Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure with multiple projects at once
-Willingness to work on select weeknights and weekends
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of professional theatrical marketing experience, ideally within a not-for-profit theatre company, cultural organization, or similar entity, with demonstrated success in planning, executing, and evaluating diverse marketing strategies. Strong project management skills, an ability to deliver results in a small organization, and excellent communication skills are a must. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, ProVenue, Tessitura preferred but not mandatory.
