Junior Accountant, City Centre, Cape Town. Company Name: Cresta. MUST HAVE Diploma/Degree in Accounting. Experience in using Sage AccPac 300. Experience in hotel accounting.

2.1 Purpose Of The Job: The position exists to effectively and efficiently manage the financial activities in order to ensure a financial and costing system that safeguards the assets of the company, enable prudent cash flow management, ensure costs are monitored within budgeted levels, accurate and timely financial and management information that assists in informed decision making as well as compliance with stated accounting policies and statutory requirements.

2.2 Principal Accountabilities/ Key Responsibilities: 2.2.1 Cash and Bank

1. Post payments and deposits into ACCPAC every month.

2. Update cashbook on a daily basis.

3. Reconcile Unit petty cash monthly and will follow up and resolve any anomalies detected.

4. Prepare unit bank reconciliations.

5. Daily cash receipts reconciliation

6. Daily banking summary

2.2.2 Inventory Management: Perform weekly and monthly stock counts

2.2.3 Management Accounting: 1. Production of the unit trial balance by the 6th of every month

2. Assist the Accountant in preparing unit management accounts that include the balance sheets, profit and loss statement, trial balances and other management reports by the 7th of every month.

3. With the Accountant prepare weekly finance report.

4. Compute Key financial indices

2.2.4 Creditors Management: 1. Receive and process all supplier invoices on a monthly basis.

2. Ensure that supplier invoices are received and posted in the ACCPAC monthly.

3. Receive and reconcile creditor’s statements monthly.

4. Prepare the creditors aged analysis every month and will follow up on outstanding invoices monthly.

5. Prepare the creditors cashflow report.

2.2.5 Audit & Internal controls: 1. Assist the Accountant to prepare audit files by 10th of every month.

2. With the Accountant attend to internal and external audit requirements

3. Enforce internal controls

2.2.6 Other duties: 4. Enforce Internal controls

5. Comply with statutory obligations.

6. Maintain asset register.

7. Participate in Financial audits

8. Manage cashflows.
