The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President Operations (General Manager of Legacy Mine Site operations) with a dotted functional line to the VP of HR in Saskatoon, the Human Resources Manager for the mine site will be a collaborative individual who promotes open communications and a positive work environment. A strategic business partner, the HR Manager will work with a talented HR team to support the Legacy operations strategic priorities and objectives while optimizing employee performance. A key member of the Operations Management Team, the successful candidate will provide expertise, guidance, advice and coaching to leaders on the full spectrum of core HR services, policies, programs and employee relations matters in this non-unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Oversee the delivery and implementation of HR services, policies and programs;
Determine and recommend employee relations practices to establish positive relationships and develop high levels of trust, collaboration and partnership;
Lead the HR team for significant start-up recruitment needs including workforce planning and the development of innovative recruitment practices, efficiencies and effectiveness;
Provide advice, coaching and guidance to operations leaders;
Actively collaborate with and provide input to Corporate Human Resources regarding strategies, programs and actions to ensure effective communication and best practices;
Oversee the development and delivery of operations training;
Lead organization change and design in conjunction with the GM and VP HR; and
As a member of the Operations Management Team, identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, increased communications and provide support for the GM and VP.
Selection Criteria include:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or related discipline;
10 plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources;
5 years supervisory and/or management experience;
CHRP preferred;
Proven expertise in recruitment, performance management and employee relations;
Proven Leadership skills, promoting open communication and a positive work environment;
Experience in industrial, manufacturing or mining industry an asset; and
Proven people leader with outstanding team building skills.
