Sous Chef, East London, Eastern Cape. An opportunity has become available for a passionate, organized and experienced Sous Chef.

Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 3 years’ experience. Matric & Diploma in Hospitality. Fluent in English and well-spoken. Good Leadership skills and able to remain calm and work under pressure. Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures. High level of creativity and reliability.

Duties: Ensure all sections are prepped, clean and prepare ingredients as required. Cooking of meals. Managing the kitchen during shift. Recording of wastage. Train and manage staff. Ensure fridges are at correct temperatures. Deal with customers complaints/enquiries. Maintaining of food cost through control in wastage, purchasing, storing, portion control.

Effective Stock control. Ensure the food is according to standard. Maintain cleanliness in all the sections and the kitchen at all times. Maintain the Health and Safety procedures. Salary : R12 000 – R15 000.
