We provide a wide range of supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and diverse needs. Vecova is an affiliate Research Institute of the University of Calgary. Our Research Services have garnered a national reputation for producing accessible, practical research that is responsive to the needs of the disability sector.
We currently have one full time opportunity for a Team Leader to join our team! A Team Leader is responsible for the provision and delivery of quality services and supports to adults with developmental disabilities, consistent with the Vecova mission, vision, values and ethics. Reporting to the Services Coordinator, the key focus of the Team Leader is to provide leadership and support to employees reporting directly to the position. The successful candidate must have the skills to establish collaborative and effective working relationships while demonstrating exceptional managerial skills in order to lead a new team through transition.
Qualifications:
 Degree/Diploma in Community Rehabilitation, Disability Studies or a related field
 Minimum of 5 years directly related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
 Previous experience supervising/leading employees
 Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
 Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
 Ability to use technology to accomplish daily administrative responsibilities
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Knowledge of clients who have high medical needs and behavioural concerns
 Must be an eligible driver
