Diesel Engine Mechanic - heavy equipment (Lead mechanic)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day
Salary: $700.00 to $900.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week

Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, WHMIS Certificate, Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Major Work Area: Repair, Overhaul, Maintenance, Service, Recondition
Type of Equipment Repair: Diesel powered automobiles, Heavy trucks, Buses, Heavy construction equipment, Forestry and logging equipment, Bulldozers, Dump trucks, Excavators
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools, Verify and repair emission control systems
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
