Procurement Specialist Ottery, Southern Suburbs. Our client in Otter is looking for a Procurement Specialist / Buyer with 5+ years’ experience. To be responsible for the planning and procurement of inventory to meet current and future demand through the preparation and development of systems and forecasting and the improvement of procurement through good buying practices and the management of the supplier relationship.

Salary: Market Related with benefits

Minimum Requirements: Matric with Relevant Qualification. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in material planning and buying in a manufacturing environment. Material Planning and Procurement. Must have Imports experience. Maintain a high level of accuracy in reviewing, preparing, and entering financial information. Maintain confidentiality concerning financial matters. Commercial awareness of business drivers, including being forward-looking while learning from the past. Experience in Syspro or similar ERP system.

Key Duties: Monitor and improve the running of the MRP and the procurement of materials. Forecasting and monitoring of required stock levels and supply patterns with strong involvement with top management. Responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials. Maintain inventory levels in line with stock policy holding. Monitor buying and delivery variances in price and quantities. Manage and control defective/obsolete /redundant / surplus material. Liaise with accounts payable and internal customers.

Liaise with suppliers on the quality and performance of products. Prepare purchase requisitions, create and execute purchase orders of materials and services. Liaise with suppliers on the availability of stock and future supply. Prepare reports and updates as and when required
