Tutor Needed in Plattekloof, Northern Suburbs. I am looking for a tutor to assist two learners, Grade 1 and 4, at their home in Plattekloof; Mondays to Fridays from approximately 14:30 to 18:30. The hourly rate is negotiable (R50-R60 per hour), based on prior teaching and/or tutoring experience.

Role of Tutor: The overall role is to provide assistance and guidance in their academic requirements in a friendly, caring and supportive manner and to teaching them skills to self-manage later on. They are hardworking and friendly children. Their Subjects: English, Afrikaans, Math, Art, Geography, History, IT, Drama, Science.

More specifically, you will need to focus on the following: Assistance and guidance in completing homework daily. Assistance and guidance with any projects/orals/assessments, and guiding them in breaking such tasks down into components. Setting up of timetable table for Grade 4 learner, and guiding herin how to make study notes. Compile revision exercises (question and answer or other creative methods) to help them consolidate their learning. If additional assistance is required from the school teachers (private school), I will communicate with you but you will also have access to their google classroom. Reminding them to complete online extra-mural activities.

Requirements: Previous teaching experience OR a retired teacher looking for a part time position. Experience working with young children. Good computer literacy so that you can assist them with printing, projects etc. Fluent in both English and Afrikaans. Must have good time management skills, be self-disciplined and motivated, meticulous, neat, caring and fun. Have own reliable transport and driver's license.
