Professional ICU Nurse Stellenbosch, Stellenbosch, Well known healthcare institute in the private sector in need of a Professional Nurse with ICU experience.  Positions are based in the Northern Suburbs.

Responsibility: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 – 5 years’ experience with the following: Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager. Building of professional relationships with doctors, therapists, patients & visitors

Maintaining all health, safety and infection control standers

Assist with the effective management of the Ward Management System

Good planning and organizing skills that contribute to meeting objectives. The ability to display sound judgment in problem-solving.

Delivers comprehensive and quality patient care to meet the health needs of patients. Adheres to Patients' Rights at all times.

Patient records and registers meet legal requirements.

Control of stock and equipment in accordance with hospital policy

Identifies and addresses continuous professional development (CPD) needs.

Quality client care principles maintained

Attend handover of report at shift commencement

Do rounds with the physician to review condition of patients; develop nursing care plans; participate in the care of all patients in unit. Displays a team approach by participating actively and cooperatively with team members.

Maintains respectful work relationships and interpersonal effectiveness.

Qualifications: Matric or equivalent. B.Cur / Diploma in Nursing. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse. Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area. ICU trained. Flexible in working hours / shifts.
