My client, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of vacuum pumps, blowers and compressors in the world, is looking for a Workshop Supervisor.

You may be the successful candidate to join the Johannesburg team providing services that are effective and efficient and keep customers always happy if you have: 5 to 10 years Technical Experience on Vacuum Pumps and / or Compressors.

Preferably a millwright qualification (trade tested) - stronger in the mechanical side but with sound electrical knowledge. Afrikaans as First Language as many of the customers prefer to communicate in Afrikaans. Good technical skills and are good with numbers. Good communication skills, verbally and written. A passport and a valid Code 08 (EB) Driver’s License. Good human resource and labour law knowledge.

A history of being professional, a team player, deadline driven, can accepts change and multitask successfully. Experience in managing a team. Lots of energy, are innovative and emotionally mature. Good reporting writing skills. Can work under pressure. Strong IT skills. Can build spreadsheets in excel and use statistics and calculations. The personality attributes, technical and managerial skills typically associated with successful Workshop Supervisors.

Responsibility: My client, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of vacuum pumps, blowers and compressors in the world, is looking for a Workshop Supervisor for the Johannesburg area to: Liaise with customers and diagnose customer concerns. Assist technicians with the diagnosis of the mechanical problems. Ensure customers receive the best quality and professional service. Service pumps in the workshop and do field services when required. Track previous services completed and getting customers to service again. Liaise with the internal sales department. Do reports for management and other administrative duties. Maintain a well-trained workforce and supervise in-house training as required.

Enforce and comply with all health and safety procedures and regulations. Conduct daily team meetings. Do on site work from time to time to back-up the field service technician. Manage and inspect tools. Liaise with suppliers for technical purchasing and negotiate good pricing. Handle warranty claims as per procedure. Give accurate and constant feedback to management.

Deal with unhappy customers professionally. Build and maintain good relationships with existing and new customers. Travel in Africa if and when required. Salary: RR25k - R30k
