University Degree / Diploma, Supply Chain qualification APICS (module 1-2) to be completed in first 18 months on the job. Planning and functional business process knowledge. Fully operational in ‘Plan’ processes. Understand ‘Make’ and ‘Source’ processes. Computer Literacy especially MS Office and SAP, Strong excel skills. Strong service mindset.
Excellent communication skills: To optimally schedule the factory in daily buckets using suggested signed off plan from central planning coordinator in order to deliver maximum customer service at lowest cost. Collaborate activities with
Centralized planner and Operations team and manage carryovers. Ensure efficient operation of factory and constant communication with Central Production Planner Schedule Production.
Use ECC to schedule the factory resources and generate weekly plan and daily plan for the factory (labour, machine and material) optimally to meet the demand and deliver the customer service level targets. Ensure all orders are TECO as per timings agreed. Review carry overs and Schedule fixed period. Attend Factory Ops meeting. Attend NTPP call weekly. Attend Weekly scrum calls.
Communicate and agree the production schedule with site material coordinator to ensure that sufficient materials are available before presenting plan to the factory, especially important with JIT materials. Communicate and agree the production schedule with production team on a weekly basis.
Identify production constraints in the “in-week” planning horizon, re-plan, if there are constraints, resolve constraints and communicate, if unresolved to stakeholders and collaborate with Central team to resolve constraints identified in non-frozen period. Negotiate alternate plans with Central Production Planning Coordinator to resolve constraints. Provide all contingency 3rd Party requirements for the week 0-2 period (on a rolling basis).
Flag any risks to delivering export specific volume to the Central Planning Coordinator. Flag any risks to delivering local and export (shared SKU) volume to the Central Production Planning Coordinator. Calculate and propose demonstrated capacities (DC’s) to the Operations team on a monthly basis mandatory and when required. Ensure sign off by SUD and implementation for use and the monthly Supply. Ensure Comms with Central Production Planning Coordinator on DC changes in order to update APO master data appropriately.
Review sourcing unit’s previous week’s performance against plan and agree production orders to be carried over with the Ops team taking into account customer demand and sourcing unit priorities. Pull process orders forward and agree with
Central Production Planning Coordinator. Flag any short-term risks in the 0-frozen period (Category specific) to the Central Production Planning Coordinator weekly before weekly ops meeting.
Assess the possibility of servicing exceptions raised in the 0- frozen period (category specific) window from a line utilization point of view and liaise with material planners to assess impact on material availability.
Work with the operations team to generate run schedules per line to minimize downtime and maximize output. Implement and plan according to these where not at the compromise of customer service. Ensure all Process orders are created for following weeks (short term horizon) and maintenance of Process orders to ensure efficient operation. Supply and Demand Reconciliation.
Align with the sourcing unit operations team on the items for inclusion in the sourcing unit calendar for the period of 0 – 52 weeks (use agreed assumptions where firm plans are not available). Agree on shift patterns and overtime assumptions to be used. This information needs to be circulated to the Central and Supply teams before Supply.
Flag any resultant production constraints with the sourcing unit ops team and debottleneck where possible with agreed extra shifts, over time or pre-build.
Maintain a working knowledge of the CPT in order to support scenario planning for the site.
Output Reliability (OR) Review previous week’s factory performance against plan (Latest & Frozen Plan OR) and input into the weekly OR loss tree with sourcing unit input and consensus (owned by Ops).
Innovation Projects: Land innovations OTIF with guidance from Central Production Planning Coordinator and SUIT Manager. Attend FCMM meetings in order to keep up with Innovation updates. Attend MOC meeting for Factory. Working
Capital Management. Assist Factory Accounts and Site Logistics in managing material usage control.
Own working capital reduction plan at site for FG through run strategy, EBQ optimization etc. Flag any reduction opportunities with the Central Production Planning Coordinator.
Reporting: Identify and assist Factory Accounts & Site Logistics in MUC management. Salary: R28000.
