Location: Bemidji, Minnesota. Experience: Some experience required.

Start Date: Job starts in about 1 month (Jun 10, 2020). Camp Thunderbird for Boys and Camp Thunderbird for Girls in Bemidji, Minnesota. Our communities are an eclectic mix of campers and staff from more than 8 countries, 25 states and 70+ suburbs across the US. We hire over 200 staff between our two camps.

Our separate boys and girls camps operate independently with a spirit of cooperation. Staff members enjoy the social aspects of our close proximity and partnership.

Thunderbird is a place where staff expands their leadership and communication skills while teaching and working closely with campers. We are a stepping stone to related youth and adult-oriented fields and we love to help launch our staff and campers. 

Activity Staff and Cabin Counselors To Teach - Canoeing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Ski Boat driver/Instructor, Sailing, Swimming, Fishing, Horseback English and Western, Outdoor Living Skills, Basketball, Climbing, Tennis, and Riflery. 

Kitchen Staff; Chefs, prep cooks, dishwashers. All of our staff are required to live on site. Please inquire and apply online or reach out to a director.

Most staff members live in cabins with 3-4 counselors and 6-10 campers. All applicants must be willing to work hard, be a team player, and enjoy the outdoors.  Contract dates are June 10-August 12 with optional weeks of work available on either end of the summer. The salary for the summer includes: room and board, a travel stipend, and is based on qualifications, current certs, etc.

Certifications available in - Lifeguard, Wilderness First Aid, and Wilderness First Responder Certification
