Financial Accountant, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Salary: R35 000 to R50 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification.

Qualifications / Requirements: Qualified Chartered Accountant. Candidate needs to be highly professional, self-driven and have the potential to grow within the organization. Experience in manufacturing industry highly advantageous. Must work well within a team and be highly organized. Preparation of monthly managing accounts. Preparation of annual audit packs, Budgeting, Full financial controls. Payroll administration including SARS compliance. Statutory compliance of VAT, CIPC, WC, provisional taxes and income tax.

Work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, Manage cash flows, Manage, supervise and upskill junior staff, Operate in a manufacturing environment, with inventory control.

Highly advantageous: Xero accounting, Imports and exports.

Key Performance Areas: Assist in formulating and supporting company’s future / strategic direction through financial management initiatives including: developing, monitoring and directing the implementation of strategic financial business plans, financial strategies and financial performance measures; as well as participating in key decisions as a member of the senior management team by meeting regularly with the Business Development Manager, Operations Manager, Business Administrator and CEO.

Financial planning and budgeting: Prepare a budget to plan company’s performance, based on a sales and production forecast. Cash flow forecasting. Investment planning.

Financial reporting and advice: Report on budget variances, cost control and cost analysis to provide financial advice and expertise to the CEO and Board of Directors with the objective of profit improvement.

Manage day-to-day/operational activities of finance function: Manage the day-to-day/operational activities of the finance function by means of Supervising the tasks of staff dealing with general administration and accounting matters. Manage bank accounts and preparing financial statements for CEO and Board of Directors. Signing off all aspects of creditors/suppliers invoices, purchases, journal and statements as well as prepare payments and advices for monies due. Signing off all aspects of debtors (customers/clients) invoices and issuing of credit applications as well as reconciling debtors statements and following-up on unpaid accounts. Liaise with procurement ensuring all departments have sufficient financial resources

Keep and maintain financial records of all the transactions of the company according to auditor and government requirements. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and the submission of Tax to SARS. Setup of accounting systems and supervising accounting function of group companies. Reporting and compliance for group companies

Manage payroll: Manage/maintain company’s payroll operations and information confidentially through use of the Sage Payroll System to calculate the salaries, allowances, PAYE, UIF payments and COIDA payments for all staff members as well as commission on sales (for all distributors)

Send out staff IRP5’s and salary slips and prepare list of payments for employees via electronic transfers to bank accounts. Maintain the leave register.

Company Secretariat and risk management: Ensure that company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and mitigate key elements of company’s risk profile by monitoring all legal issues involving the company or affecting the industry; as well as reporting risk issues to the CEO and Board of Directors. Hold quarterly employment equity meetings, submit plan and reports, and ensure compliance.

Salary: R35000 to 50000
