Support Engineer, Other, Cape Town. We’re looking for a Support engineer to install, maintain, repair and support hardware and software implemented by our client. The successful candidate must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions as well as hardware installation. You must be able to work diligently and accurately and possess a great problem-solving ability, to fix issues and ensure functionality.
Responsibilities: Test, configure and implement solutions (hardware & software). Maintain and repair barcoding equipment (e.g. printers and scanners). Troubleshoot solution failures or bugs (hardware and/or software related) and provide solutions to restore functionality. Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference. Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize solution(s) correctly. Provide technical assistance and resolution as necessary.
Requirements: Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication abilities. Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts. Must be able to work in a team environment but should also be able to work unsupervised. Must exhibit a commitment to continuous learning. Willingness to work overtime as and when required. Documentation skills will be an advantage (draw up manuals, specifications, etc.) Relevant certifications (e.g. A+/N+) will be an advantage
Networking experience will be an advantage. Relevant database (SQL and/or MySQL) experience will be an advantage. Salary: R8000 to R12000 cost to company
