Urgently require Casual Waiters for a Boutique Hotel in Midrand, Johannesburg. Our Guest Lodge in Midrand urgently requires Casual Waiters (Male & Female) to seamlessly supply food and drinks to customers/guests as requested. This is a very important role in our Guest Lodge as we require staff that are always attentive and accommodating to the customers.

Responsibilities: Greet and escort customers to their tables. Present menu and provide detailed information when customers ask. Prepare tables by setting up linens, plates and glasses. Inform customers about the day’s Specials. Offer menu recommendations upon request. Serve food and drink orders.

Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems. Up-sell additional products when appropriate. Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization. Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning. Meet with restaurant staff to review daily Specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)

Follow all relevant health department regulations. Provide excellent customer service to guests. Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff. Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area. Deliver checks and collect bill payments.

Requirements: Proven work experience as a Waiter. Hands on experience with cash register and ordering information system. Math skills Patience for customers. Strong presentation skills. Ability to work in shifts Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills. Active listening & Team spirit. Food Safety Training is a plus. Matric/Grade 12. (No calls accepted). Salary offer to be discussed at a later stage.
