Requirements: Bachelors degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline. At least 10 - 12 years of experience as a Food Production Technician, of which at least 5 years must include the general management of a Food Processing Factory at a senior level. Excellent time management skills: Must be able to manage key production decisions to ensure manufacture of high-quality products. Knowledge of production Health & Safety.

Responsibility Duties: Oversee all aspects of the Food Processing Plant which include but are not limited to the sourcing, processing and selling of food products. The duties include but are not limited to: Factory Set up, Prepare forecasts, Identify potential risks and risk areas. Formulate contingencies for factory and canning implementation. Oversee the set-up of the factory and canning facility according to program and budget provided.

Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with food health and safety legislation. Obtain the necessary certification in line with ISO standards. Ensure manufacturing and processing staff always comply with health and safety requirements. Ensure all company regulations and government legislations are adhered to Continuous tracking, monitoring and reporting on compliance requirements. Human Resources, Finance and Administration. Assign work tasks according to staff specialization. Oversee the hiring and training of factory personnel.

Development of appropriate job descriptions. Motivate and supervise staff. Ensure production targets are met. Ensure implementation of proper financial reporting procedures. Manage creditors and debtors with assistance from financial staff. Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and processed food products.

Procurement: Maintain healthy supplier relationships. Ensure products and raw materials are stored properly and at under the correct conditions. Manage procurement. Keep detailed production schedules. Processing and Canning. Monitor every aspect of production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.

Set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets. Manage shifts to ensure round-the-clock food production operations. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth work operations. Prepare periodic reports to update the Board on food production activities. Conduct research to discover ways to improve the efficiency of the production processes.

Sales and Marketing. Develop and promote new food products to boost sales and increase generated returns. Identify customer requirements and needs. Support sales and marketing team to develop and implement strategies for driving and achieving sales targets.
