Clothing Pre-Production & Production Planner, Location: Westville, West Suburbs, Job Type: Full-Time, As the Pre-production/Production planner, you will liaise with all relevant stakeholders to successfully plan, forecast, coordinate and schedule the full supply chain process for manufacturing, in such a manner that lead times are met, on-time delivery ensured & cost-effectiveness is maintained. Knowledge & Experience Required: National Diploma in Clothing Production Management a bonus. Excel intermediate level (including pivot tables and formulas). 4 to 6 years' previous experience in production planning, including working on an ERP / MRP / Isync & production planning system.
Skills required: Analytical ability with an eye for detail (critical path analysis). Able to plan, monitor and track progress of projects and plans. Good communication and negotiation skills. Able to work in a deadline, fast-paced environment.
Key Outputs: Prepare, monitor and track the factory's production plan (this includes areas such as capacity planning, quantity and cost of production; line planning or WIP) through the Fast React planning board. Draw up the master production schedule on Fast React planning board to establish the production sequence and lead times of each product in order to meet customer delivery dates. Liaise with Merchandisers to gather information, monitor work in progress (WIP). Good Negotiation skills to ensure most cost effective prices are achieved when outsourcing to a CMT. The Production Planner is responsible for day to day monitoring and planning of production orders to ensure production orders are delivered on time and in full.
Key duties high level over-view: Planner arranges logistics, which entails ensuring the relevant staff collate the labels, polybags, cartons, trims, thread, carton labels and cut panels per order, so that the factory receives all parts required to complete each order. Planner checks that all components required for the factory to start production are delivered to the relevant factory on the date agreed between the factory & the company.
Potential applicant must be able to use the company's ERP system, Isync Solutions system and must have very strong Microsoft Excel capabilities to generate reports. Must have knowledge of cross border invoices for logistics, to cross borders in and out South Africa and ensure VAT amounts stated on invoices are correct.
Planner must ensure that logistics are utilized to the fullest at all times, and also ensure warehouse spacing is adequate for the date you planned the truck to arrive at the warehouse. A full description of KEY DUTIES can be e-mailed to you on request.
