Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): AME «M» Licence - Aircraft
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Main Responsibility: Technician
Mechanical Maintenance Experience: Aircraft maintenance - general, Propulsion - propellers, Turbine engines
Type of Aircraft Experience - Airplanes: Small turboprops, Small jet airplanes
Work Setting / Industry Experience: Commercial air carrier
Aircraft Mechanic Skills: Visually inspect / assess and assist repairs to aircraft structures, systems and equipment, Remove/install and functionally test aircraft components, Dismantle aircraft systems for repair and overhaul, and reassemble, Assemble and rig aircraft control systems, Diagnostically troubleshoot aircraft defects and carry out corrective action, Complete records of work done and sustain an accurate record system
Additional Skills: Interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions, Work in confined spaces and at heights, Work in severe environmental conditions
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver's validity license check, Airport security clearance
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods
Work Site Environment: Noisy
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle
