Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

The primary purpose of this position is to provide ultrasound and diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with accepted radiology standards and the policies and procedures of the Labrador-Grenfell Health Region.
Qualifications:
    Graduation from an approved course in:
        Diagnostic Medical Sonography;
        Radiological Technology;
    Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or with the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals and must maintain registration on an ongoing basis;
    Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists /CAMRT, and must maintain registration on an ongoing basis;
    Experience in ultrasound procedures and general radiology techniques in an accredited health care facility;
    Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, hazards, and techniques of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, skill in the use of all radiology equipment and ultrasound equipment and in the performance of required examinations;
    CPR certification;
    The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties (Included but not limited to):
    Performs ultrasound exams;
    Performs radiology exams on an as needed basis;
    Must participate in ongoing education for ultrasound to maintain registration;
    Participates in the Departmental Quality Initiatives program and assists in the preparation of audits;
    Performs clerical work related to diagnostic procedures;
    Other duties as required.
Salary:
LX-30 of the NAPE LX salary scales, $30.56 to $38.48 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
Hours of Work:
70 hours biweekly (on call required).
