Project Document and Data Management Technician

We are currently seeking high caliber PDDM Technician candidates for Calgary. You will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical sector.
Key Activities:
Accurate and timely receipt and tracking of electronic technical documentation for both in-house engineering and supplier data into EDMS
Coordination of review cycles, both internal and external
Quality check all documentation received and issued on the project
Review, compile, attribute, validate and bulk load data
Assist in managing technical modifications to EDMS system to comply with Client deliverables
Understanding and reporting of project documentation workflows and life cycle
Ability to monitor project document management inbox, track, delegate and process requests in a timely manner.
Perform complex document management duties and analytical tasks, demonstrating problem solving skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering standards and specifications as they relate to document/data control.
Support users on how to use EDMS system on the project
Interact and work with other office locations
Requirements:
Requires 5-8 years of project related experience in the EPC industry in lieu of degree
Strong time management, problem solving, decision making and job task planning skills
Document Management background dealing with all disciplines, suppliers, third party and clients
Experience working with Procurement and contracts – PO Award work process and documentation requirements.
Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks, priorities and work with change
Strong team player with the ability train and support team members to meet project deadlines
Excellent working knowledge of at least one EDMS such as Livelink, Documentum, FileNet, etc.
Working knowledge of relational databases and project collaboration systems
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of database import and export systems and procedures
Advanced knowledge of desktop software such as MS Excel, Visio, Adobe Professional
Strong knowledge of Windows, Directories, Folder Structures
Strong organizational skills, judgment and flexibility
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience related to working with engineering contractor partners, joint venture partners
Ability to:
Write project work instructions, checklists and processes
Provide critical thinking and innovation when required
Strategically expedite the workflow of a document cycle in order to maintain project schedule
