We might just have the right position for you: our 3 health food grocery stores are currently looking to hire an Operations Manager that will provide the leadership needed to successfully operate our stores. He/she will assist the President in his strategic orientation decisions and support the Store Managers in the day-to-day management of Natural Food Pantry stores. He/she will ensure the growth of the company and the profitability of its operations, in all management activities and decisions he/she will make. His/her main objectives are to maximize revenue and to optimize human resources management by fostering an excellent work environment in which all store employees can provide outstanding customer service.
Among the responsibilities above, the Operations Manager will:
 Serve as a role model to all employees: lead, coach and motivate all employees to improve productivity, engagement and retention;
 Conduct regular communication meetings and follow-up on targets and operational improvement efforts;
 Create and/or improve HR policies and procedures, and ensure consistent follow up, training, and guidance;
 Create and/or improve Marketing and merchandising standards, and ensure consistent follow up, training, and guidance;
 Develop standard orientation policies and procedures for all new hires;
 Develop training standards with respect to workplace harassment/violence prevention and respect in the workplace;
 Ensure that store policies and procedures are followed, that the stores always look welcoming, perform internal audits and give training or apply disciplinary measures when needed;
 Proactively identify areas of opportunity to grow within the business and/or within the industry;
 Recruit, develop and inspire top performing store managers and other employees when needed;
 Assess global store and individual performance and perform performance appraisals meetings twice per year;
 Participate in sales and networking activities with local organizations, television and radio when needed;
 In addition to these tasks, other tasks can be assigned.
The right candidate will possess:
 Bachelor’s or College Degree in Management or Business, or other rich mix of equivalent experiences;
 Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Operations Manager, District or Store Manager, with more than 30 employees to manage;
 Extensive experience in retail, ideally in the food industry
 Good knowledge of Canadian workplace legislation
 Experience in management of relevant social media applications
 Extensive knowledge of English
 Good knowledge of French or other language (considered strong assets)
 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (and other software relevant to the retail industry)
Our work environment and conditions:
We offer competitive compensation plans and other benefits. The Operations Manager’s home base will be at a fixed and closed office in our at Billings Bridge location. He/she will also work at our other locations and will be required to travel between all locations much of the time. A car and valid driver’s license is required for this role.

We are looking for a manager with proven leadership and ability to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment, with the ability to work in a team and to create good synergy within a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills, and being able to speak in public (occasionally). Our future manager will also have to be detailed-oriented and experienced with creating, interpreting and managing budget and sales reports.
