Location: Randburg, Johannesburg, Job Type: Full-Time. We’re seeking an Assistant Production Manager to assist in our Branding Department to help oversee the development and completion of all branding processes. This person will collaborate with core team members to execute projects from the initial artwork stage through to final inspection of orders ensuring clients receive their products on time.
The purpose of this job is to apply and assist in managing the screen printing, pad printing, heat transfer and other branding methods to ensure the branding of the products are completed in such a manner that they meet all the cost, productivity and quality requirements. It also requires scheduling of work in order to meet deadlines.
About the role: The candidate would be expected to work with minimal supervision and is expected to think expansively and creatively about problems and to identify effective solutions in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Assist in overseeing all aspects of branding production, which include initial scheduling, training, QC, branding and delivery. Assist in ensuring that all jobs produced are of superior quality, at the best possible cost, and on time to meet client deadlines. Acquire an in-depth knowledge of current technologies while working to become a subject-matter expert on emerging ones. Initiate new ideas on an ongoing basis. This includes assisting in preparing of print equipment, troubleshooting technical problems and maintaining equipment.
About you: Production experience. You’re a proactive thinker and able to exercise good judgement and initiative. Comfortable working autonomously in a deadline driven environment. Has a lean-in, forward-thinking attitude that moves the business to greatness. You have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members at all levels in the business.
Knowledge & Experience Required: Good understanding of branding/printing processes. Good understanding of branding on different materials will be advantageous.
Skills required: Strong computer literacy. Creative with an eye for detail. Good organizational skills. Accurate and precise. Interpersonal skills (influence, motivate, resolve conflict). Good Attitude and Personal Values. Problem solving orientated with a positive pre-disposition. Able to work under pressure and successfully deliver on deadlines.
Key Outputs: Plan and issue work. Must be prepared to assist with the screen printing, pad printing and heat press processes when needed (hands on). Manage and drive screen print, pad print and heat press runs. Quality control.
