Specification: The Technical Candidate is responsible for IT field service delivery at specific hotels. The incumbent works with the property leadership team to ensure that services are implemented, managed and delivered on time and to budget, with a strong focus on compliance, security and asset management and guest satisfaction. The position will be responsible for multiple properties, so travel between these properties is expected.
Responsibilities, Not Limited To: First and second line technical support for multiple hotels, hotel conferencing facilities and business centres Ensure compliance to the groups' policies. On-going communication of policies and other requirements to hotel associates. Interact with technology vendors to ensure timely resolution of technology issues. Management of technology assets and related inventories. Technical Project Management. Ensure compliance and on-going improvement in property technology audits. Work with the property team to meet and exceed any guest requirements. Respond to phone calls, emails and support tickets in a timely, professional and customer-centric manner during SA business hours. Be available for after hours support as part of an on-call rotation.
Skills, Experience & Competencies: 5+ years’ experience as support / technician, support engineer or Tier 2/3 support. Technical background (engineering, software development, or computer science). Routing and Switching Experience 1 – 2 Years. Experience within the hospitality sector and with hotel applications is a significant advantage. Presentable and with strong written and verbal communication skills as this is a client facing role. Proven track record of advanced technical problem solving, specifically with Wi-fi, networking, routing and switching.
Technical project management experience. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks while setting priorities and meeting deadlines. Customer premises equipment installations. Ownership of change requests and incidents to determine root cause. Cabling – installing, testing and monitoring. Good working knowledge of VLANs. Network Monitoring and Fault Resolution. Customer Relationship Management – Internal and External. Experience on switches and routers.
