General Practice Medical Receptionist, Abbott Medical Clinic. We are a privately owned general practice located in Cairns. We are passionate about providing quality health care to our patients. We are looking for highly motivated receptionists to join our team. The role will require you to work within a team environment and individually. You must be able to work well under pressure. You will be reporting to the Practice Manager and the successful applicants will work at the front desk and administration area as to ensure the smooth operations of all daily reception aspects of the practice.
Essential Criteria: Experience in liaising with doctors, staff and allied health professionals and patients on a daily basis. Have proficient computer skills. Experience with Medicare billings. Ability to multi task and perform appropriately under pressure with attention to detail. Flexibility in working hours and reliability. Must be available to cover sick and holiday leave. Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team. Excellent customer service skills and effective interpersonal skills. Fluent in written and spoken English language. Can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities include: Answering telephone calls, scheduling of appointments and responding to enquiries. Provide ongoing support to all staff. Managing of claims to Medicare and DVA, processing of workers compensation claims. Appropriate management of all patient claims. Management of patient medical records. Daily banking reconciliation. General daily administration duties.
Desirable Criteria: Prior experience with Best Practice software or similar. Prior completion of training of certificate in medical administration or equivalent course. CPR certificate.
