Program Assistant, YWCA Australia, Wollongong, Illawarra & South Coast, Salary, $20 - $29.99 per hour. The Role: YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to join our Programs team. This role is offered on a part time (22.8 hours per week) basis on a maximum term contract until 6 December 2019 basis and is based in our Nowra office. The Program Assistant is responsible for providing support for the delivery of programs and developing a positive, supportive learning environment for students and young people.

Support the coordinator in all aspects of program delivery as required. Support group participants to contribute meaningfully to program activities and achieve personal, and school re-engagement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: Support the coordinator in all aspects of program delivery as required. Support group participants to contribute meaningfully to program activities and achieve personal and school reengagement outcomes. Assist with set up and closure of program sessions including transportation, purchasing and catering. Maintain a clean and tidy workspace including the kitchen, training room and storage of all program resources.

Deliver on our Core Capabilities: Other relevant duties as required. Qualifications, Experience and Attitude. Demonstrated experience in group work, activitiy based learning and/or mentoring. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with young people. Demonstrated understanding of, and/or training in, relevant child protection legislation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong organisation skills. Sound computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Current First Aid and CPR certificate or a willingness to obtain. Current Driver’s Licence.

This position requires the incumbent to, at all times, comply with the organisation’s Child Protection Policy.  The incumbent must satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Record Check and the associated Statutory Declaration prior to commencing this role.
