Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Van, Refrigerated
Type of Travel: Long-haul, International
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance
Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Other Information:wages are based on 11000 miles Min. 40 hours per week at $0.32 - $0.36 per mile depending on experience. Additional pick up/ drop $20. working hours other than driving $15.- per hour.
